Another Complaint Against Sundirect DTH

I am a subscriber of Sun TV since 19.10.2009. I had opted for one year subscription at the time of installation. The subscription was initially valid upto 19.10.2010.

I renewed the subscription on 17.10.2010 through your local dealer for one year paying Rs.1310/-. The subscription was renewed upto 19.11.2010 (i.e. for 13 months – that is 12 months plus one month’s free offer for annual renewal as a part of Deepavalai package of 2010). In the meantime, due to some satellite link failure or so, the transmission was either not fully available or was disturbed for about 10 days and the date of expiry of my annual subscription was postponed to 28.11.2011.

On 19.11.2011, I renewed my annual subscription, by making on line payment. As there was no option for payment of Rs.1310/- in single payment on your top up website, I opted for payment of Rs.1310/- by selecting Rs.655 X 2 and a single payment of Rs.1310/- was made. To my surprise, I find that while renewing the subscription, the system has taken the date of effect of renewal subscription as 19.11.2011 instead of from 29.11.2011.

On going through the SunDirect OEACustomer Selfcare website, I find that my current subscription is accounted for the period from 19.11.2011 to 22.11.2012, whereas it should be for one year from 29.11.2011 – that is the current subscription should expire by about 28th or 30th November 2012. I am losing about 10 days of subscription because of the mistake of your system.

Secondly, I find that the system as automatically changed by plan “Malayalam Basic Subscription Package 6 Months Renewal” instead of annual renewal plan, which I had originally opted for. I have sent various e mails to Sundirect Nodal Officer at Kochi over the last one month and no action is taken to rectify the mistakes. My complaints over their toll free no. have also not evoked any positive response.
