Bad Cable TV Picture by Comcast

Bad Cable TV Picture. White dots appear on the screen while watching Comcast (Xfinity). Some old-timers (like me) might call this “snow.” I only see these dots while watching Comcast (Xfinity) cable TV. It happens whenever I view a TV channel or On-Demand programming. We had the service installed in October 2011. The problem started soon after the technician left. The problem is continuous. It does not matter what channel we watch. Usually, the white dots vibrate a little, occasionally they partly arrange into varying wave patterns with overlaid snow. We have contacted Comcast several times. Sometimes they say “there is an outage in the area,” sometimes not. They blamed our equipment, connections, settings — even the wiring in our building and any appliances connected to or existing nearby the wiring. We have checked and tested all these. (Well, we are not ghostly spirits, nanobots, or housebreakers, so we could not check to see whether a neighbor has a short in their LavaLamp, for example.) Failing these explanations, Comcast offerred to send another tech out at our expense. Note: our TV is digital, pretty new, worked fine before, works fine for all other inputs, everything attached to it is new. We pay a lot for our service.
