BSNL Jammu Makes it impossible to Register LandLine Phone in DO NOT CALL Registry

The Govt. of India started NDNC for people who do not want to receive telemarketing calls. More details at:

How to Request?

http://ndncregistry.gov.in/ndncregistry/aboutRegister.jsp

The telephone number “1909″ is designated for registering your request in the National Do Not Call Registry. In case of Landline phones, registrations can be done by calling “1909″. Telephone calls to this number are FREE of cost. The telecom service provider will acknowledge the request within ten days. Requests will become effective in 45 days from the date of request.

The Problem:
The problem is that In Jammu (at least) the number 1909 does not work and hence people here can not register their phone numbers in NDNC and they are being made to attend the telemarketing calls.

About 2-3 months back, I registered a complaint to BSNL through online complaint form about this issue but so far received no reply. The Docket Number of my complaints are:-

1. Phone No. 2434885 – Grievance Registered; Docket Number Is : JKR/CO/2010/501
2. Phone No. 2431257 – Grievance Registered; Docket Number Is : JKR/CO/2010/502

This is something very basic and all private sector telecom companies provide this service in Jammu but not the BSNL which actually should be the first to follow the NDNC.
