Daylight Cheating By Videocon D2h

Myself Surajit Das with Videon d2h customer id :-10365053 have been using services since last 2 years. On 11th Nov’2011, due to typing mistake I recharged my account with Rs3000/- instead of Rs.300/- using icici net banking. i called back customer care with in 5 minutes of recharge and admitted my mistake. Infact i talked to your superviser Mr. Gaurav, who assured me a call back from videocon regarding this. With subsequent conversations with executive, it was agreed that it’s a typing mistake and unintentionalInfact i sent them a copy of transaction for smooth refund as requested by them.Ms Anishaa (?) Tyagi from head office was dealing with me over the issue of refund. After lots of conversation, Ms Tyagi told me refund is possible and there are two methods. One through draft for which Rs.100 will deductible as processing fee and it will take 15 days. Second one through the bank which was used for net banking transfer. She requested me to contact bank first ; then if denied by bank, head office will initiate the draft process. As the Bank denied, I requested Videocond2h to initiate the draft process. Even after 7 days there was no further communication made by Videocon. When I contacted Videocon customer care on 19th Nov’11(Saturday night), I was told by Mr. Vijay Joseph (senior supervisor) to remind him on Monday so that he could initiate the process. Since then i have been calling customer care to remind Vijay on daily basis, where as he is unavailable as I was told by customer care executives. Mr Vijay who also agreed that as it is a mechanical mistake, my money will be refunded as a draft and it does not happen many often and Most of the customer care executives are unaware of this process.I was told by one executive that money can be refunded with in 10 days only, whereas I informed customer care by phone and mail with in 5 minutes of wrong transaction. Then, if it is delayed, it shows that lack of intention from Videocon ; not from my side. If the money is not refunded for the wrong transaction, then I feel as if I was cheated by d2h. It makes a bitter relationship between Videocon and me and I don’t see a point where I should continue with a service provider, who cheated me and forcing to take different marketing offers instead of refunding my hard earned money. I was forced to take different offer by Miss Tyagi several times to accommodate the huge amount I have recharged with, despite of my repeated declines. Even, I was again told to accept the offers yesterday ,while talking to Miss Tyagi. I also tried to contact to Mr Sudhin Bhartiya, Circle officer, Mumbai since last 3 days; but he was unavailable as I was told by his officemates. In the meantime, I talked to Mr. Ajay from his office and I was assured that Mr. Sudhin will call me back. Some of my logics are:

1. Through out the process, I was not given any complain number, even if I queried. I understand that it is my basic right. Even I was not given any complain number in the corresponding mails through out 8 weeks time.

2. If I would have recharged intentionally, then I would have gone for different offers available for such a huge amount of recharge and also , I have informed though mail and phone about the typing mistake with 5 minutes of incident.

3. Why Miss Tyagi was forcing me to take different offer , even if I requested her not to talk about offers several times. It’s really irritating; but a marketing strategy by d2h to make balance sheet better at the cost of consumer’s hard earned money.

4. It’s also true that refunds are done by d2h in genuine cases; through draft after deducting 100/- as processing fee. Throughout the whole process, all the d2h executives agreed over phone that it is a genuine case ; but never acknowledges that in any of mails, fearing that it may backfire. It’s a kind of mental harassments, where I have been stressed to follow up the case on daily calls to customer care by phone and mails, that too since last 4-5 weeks. It will definitely affect the Videocon brand value, which is opting for such low grade policies to hold back hard erned money of consumers using the loop holes of system.

Request you to consider my case on genuine basis and get me the refund; which will maintain a cordial relationship between D2h and consumer. If the refund is not possible, then please let me know the reason, why I have been kept so many days in confusion by saying both “yes and no” on alternative days. Please let me know the reason , why the refund is not possible in writing. In that case, I dont have any option; but to move to consumer rights protection forum by Govt of India ( I have already registered my complain at national consumer helpline on 14th Dec’2011. I didnt get any reply from nodal officer, Mumbai despite of repeated reminders by emails.
