I was awarded a gift card from Fifth/Third Bank for using my debit card. I have had it for a couple of months and when I went you use it last night at a resturant, it was refused. I could not understand this since it had never been used.

But in looking at the card, I noticed a monthly fee of $2.50 was being assessed. Since this was my money, how in the hell can this bank dare charge me? In my opinion this amounts to nothing but thieft.

At Xmas I was given a Chase Mastercard gift card for $25.00. It had a $3.75 activation fee. M0re thieft! Where is our government help?
