Incomplete, Inferior Quality Work by Bramma Construction

We assigned a contact to bramma construction novembert last year. After lots of dishonesty and lies and trying to make money out of us, we were forced to move in end november 2011. The house was still not complete – it was told to us that they do not have any money to complete the house we need to draw the final payment from the bank which we did not do and never even got the occupation certificate yet. We built a 5 bedroom house – they never put in electrical point in study, nothing in garage, no point outside at the entertainment area. we were told they only use libra baths – they useed a cheaper brand. Our staircase had no railing for more then a month and still not fixed properly (jan2012). Windows has scratches on it, floor tiles are scratched? We spent such alot of money on this house was supposed to be our dream house but i feel as if he used seconds to build this house. All our floors are lifting in the bedrooms because the doors hadn’t been sealed. Sitting with such alot of headaches now and using other builders to finish off. Charl is the biggest bullshitter i know and all he wants is money – he will cut cost all over just to make a small saving and try to make money out of you every way he possibly can. This whole process was an absolute nightmare – PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING THEM.

    This matter has now become a legal one of arbitration
    We are in the process of taking legal advice pertaining to certain defamatory and untrue statements made against Bramma Construction
    Despite the economic slump, we have continued building quality homes over the past 15 years

    This is your idea of quality, kitchen – shelves are all chipped, edging peeling off. Bathroom vanities all broken wood used inside- had to take a kokhi and colour in all the edging in my whole kitchen. Cheap runners and very bad workmanship. Electrical and plumbing work not up to legal standards – how they got that passed would like to know. All toilets does not flush properly and the plumbers that we got out said we could get a shock if we showered because geyser wasn’t earthed. Some electrical covers not on and the ones that were on was just silicones on and even the connections in the geyser. Tiles chipped- had to have all my tiles on staircase lifted. We were without a balustrade for weeks and have 3 small kids. Had to have all new balustrade made because the original one was not done properly. Having new kitchen done. All grouting in the tiles breaking up and laminate floors lifting(only moved end November) . Glass in windows scratched, sandblasting not done properly, need to redo. Front door just blows open, wrong lock fitted. Had to finish off our own pool and all things left undone and still busy paying to make the house what it was supposed to be. FOR A HOUSE OF R2.4 m I think it’s just pathetic

    i know what you mean Candice. hope you get your place sorted out, if all else fails with another builder because you will not be happy with the outcome of their work. remember that all faults need to be sorted out before a company can be re-registered and in your case if they were building the house from scratch and registered it with the NHBRC, then there is a guarantee on structure etc with the NHBRC.
