Porting Request Rejected by Vodafone Demanding Rs 3000
I am kiran from hyderabad AP. I hold a vodafone connection with num 9052000058 which i have taken a almost 15 months back….Vodafone services were never upto the mark of their promise – call breakage & call drop & very poor coverage in the country side – I was very happy when the MNP was announced and was eagerly waiting for the launch in AP.
I gave my MNP Port IN request to BSNL which was rejected by VODAFONE with a reason as UPC (UNIQUE PORTIN CODE) Incorrect – I was surpised to know this and had a fight literally withthe BSNL team thinking that they might have sent incorrect information -but to my surprise I was told that the porting request was rejected not becuase of the incorrect UPC but because the vodafone have fixed some charges towards their num 9052000058 – I was asked to pay a sum of rs 3000/- to buy this number by the vodafone rep at the vodafone outlet at Liberty/himayath nagar but the same representative told another customer sitting just beside me to email you for the issue to be resolved (Actually the other persons number was ending with a fancy num xxxx777777 – and the cost of that num as told by the rep was 2 lakhs) – nevertheless — he has insisted me to pay the amount of rs3000 where as he has guided the other customer to send a mail to AUSPI to get the issue resolved and his number ported without paying anything – this is clearly discrimination in the services to customer by vodafone.
IT is evident that Vodafone is playing cheap tricks to retain its customers by asking them to pay for the number if the customer wants to change network from vodafone to another – perhaps vodafone should try better network & competitive offers to retain its customers.
VODAFONE TEAM – I DEMAND my porting request to be completed in three working days from now – and I am not going to pay anything other than my usage charges – if this is not acceptable I will file a case in the consumer forum demanding a penalty of rs 100000 for showing customer discrimination & for providing incorrect information to its consumers + reject my porting request with an invalid reason.
