Hi, This is with regards to a big brand in the Indian market “SPICE MOBILES” This is the first time I have seen such a big company adopting a wonderful measure to attract and cheat customers I am sure we have heard a dealer making big statements about their product but this is the first time I have seen a company cheating customers by providing misleading information in their product manual This is a sorry state that a customer of today has to face I purchased a Spice QT 44 mobile from a dealer in Vile Parle West (name withheld intentionally) 6 days back.
The dealer was boasting about the wonderful features that this phone has and when I went through the product manual even that stated amazing features. I was convinced enough to buy the phone. When I reached home and started checking the features of the phone I was surprised there were many features that were missing in the phone but the manual stated that the phone had those features.
I wrote a mail to the spice helpdesk about the same and given below is the reply that I received Respected Sir, [We tried your mobile as well landline number yesterday i.e 15th April many a times but your phone was not reachable.
But today as per our telephonic conversation with you we would like to inform you that all those features that you have mentioned are neither cited on our website (www.spice-mobile.com) nor on the brochure of the handset. However, the information given in the user manual is a case of “printing error”. We apologize for the inconvenience that is caused to you.”]
The funniest part was that a customer representative called me from spice and she started her conversation my telling me that Mr. Kapoor I believe you had placed an order for a desk top charger. She was not even aware about why is she calling me, It was I who had to tell her what was the problem and when I asked her name she stated that as per the company policy she cannot disclose her name???? What policy is that?? The company just went ahead and stated that it was a printing error and they could not do anything about it.
I also told them since this is something else then what I was promised as per the manual please take the phone back and refund my money but the company refused to do the same Given below is my first mail that I wrote to SPICE [Hi, This is with regards to your product QT 44.
If you go through the product manual that is being provided by the company it gives false and misleading information As per the manual on pg no.65 it is mentioned that this phone has an inbuilt antenna which we need to pull and is situated on the top left of the phone ??????? In Reality such a thing does not exist Also as per the manual the phone has a video player feature In Reality even that does not exist The manual claims that there is blue tooth in the phone???? WHERE?????? I selected this product by reading the features that were provided but all in vain, I am really disappointed that even an esteemed organization like yours cheats people by providing misleading and false information. You also claim that the battery life is long HOW LONG??
Answer :- Not more than 1 DAY After purchasing this product I really feel like being cheated by reading those false promises and statements I am planning to approach ICRPC with regards to the same request you to kindly suggest the needful ASAP Also PFA herewith the snap shot of the errors in the manual] I have decided that I am going to approach ICRPC with regards to the same and ensure no more customers are cheated.
I would request you to kindly suggest the needful and highlight the same so that people are aware about such malpractice that such companies use to fool customers.
